What will I Learn in Journalism School?

In journalism school, you will learn how to write and publish in print, air, and the web. You will build a portfolio of work, and will learn about the law and ethics and how it relates to journalism today. Your courses will cover a wide range of topics, building on a basic liberal arts education, and will include English, writing, communications, as well as courses in new media and web design, to name a few.

How Long Will Journalism School Take?

That depends on which degree you pursue. An associates degree or certificate program can be completed in one to two years, while a bachelor’s degree will typically require four. Journalism can be taken as a major or a minor.
